In this post, we’re going to go through each of the Human Design types: the Manifesting Generator, the Pure Generator, the Projector, Manifestor, and Reflector and explore how you can utilize information about your type to help you create the perfect role for you as a business owner or team member. Manifesting Generator

If you’re a manifesting generator, that means 2 things:

  1. You have your Sacral Center defined
  2. You have a motor center connected to your throat center. 

You may have a direct connection through a defined (colored-in) channel from your Sacral Center to your Throat. Or it could be from your Sacral through your G or Spleen Centers and onward to the Throat through two defined channels.  Or you may have one of the other three motor centers (the root, ego, or solar plexus) connected to your Throat Center, directly or through other centers.  

With a defined Sacral, you have consistent energy flowing through your system in a unique way that you can count on. Then, with a motor center connected to your Throat, the center of expression and manifestation, you have energy that can be expressed into manifestation quickly in reality. 

Essentially, you can manifest energy into things or results really, really quickly. And you’ll often see the fastest path to the results and will want to overlook some of the steps along the way that don’t seem important. 

This is really useful on a team as you’re here to get work done and to get it done with the most direct path. However, it’s natural for you to miss some important steps and details along the way. 

It’s important you create your role in such a way that you can use your consistent energy to move things forward while not having to follow too many steps so that you can let your creative energy flow in a non-linear path. You can generate and get somewhere very quickly. You’re just going to drop some balls. 

So on a team, it’s really good if you’re surrounded by people that can pick up those balls for you and let you know about them. Because when a Manifesting Generator gets to the end of a path, they often look back and realize they have to go back and pick up those balls. But, with the right team collaboration, you won’t have to.  

Pure Generators

Pure Generators are amazing at seeing all the steps and can work well with Manifesting Generators in this way. Both types of Generators have the defined Sacral and its consistent life force and energy. The Pure Generators, though, do not have a connection from a motor center to the Throat Center. 

And so they approach projects and tasks in a more linear way, finishing one step and then moving on to the next. This is what makes Pure and Manifesting Generators a good team. Both are builders with a lot of energy to move projects forward, one making sure each step gets completed while the other keeps moving the project forward on the most direct path. 

And, as long as both types of Generators are only saying Yes to the tasks and projects that are correct for them, they’ll continue to wake up each day with a new full supply of energy to be utilized, and utilized in the correct way.

If you’re a Generator of either kind, it’s important to know how to listen to your Sacral to know where to put your energy, especially in business. Otherwise, you’ll end up burned out. It’s really important that you’re not making decisions with your mind but trusting your Sacral to guide you. If you don’t, you’re going to end up saying yes to too many things involved in too many projects, and you’re going to end up really, really exhausted, and not adding value to the team. This can lead to struggling to bring in the resources you need financially.

Projectors 

 

The Projectors are about 18% of the population while Manifesting Generators and Generators make up about 70%. So Projectors are not here to be as busy as Generators and they have less consistent energy they can count on for that reason. 

That does not mean you just need to sit back and do nothing if you’re a Projector. You are here to take action. It’s just important that you pay attention to when your energy is available and when it’s not. And don’t force it when it’s not. You aren’t the “builders” the Generators are. That’s not your primary role. 

Projectors do not have their sacral center defined and they also do not have one of the motor centers connected to their throat. So they don’t have a consistent energy from the sacral center or consistent motor energy for manifestation. 

Projectors are here to be guides and make really good managers, specifically managers of generators.  And that doesn’t mean they have to actually be in the role of project manager. If you’re a Projector, it’s important that, when you’re energy isn’t there, that you shift into actively waiting. And what you’re actively doing that time is noticing what is working and what isn’t, what is efficient and inefficient, and how energy is being used well and not well. Notice where you see holes in the process or how someone is using their energy. Then, wait until you are asked for you to share what you’re noticing. This will remove their resistance and you will be recognized for your natural way of guiding the energy flow. If you try to share without first being invited, they may not be ready to hear yet. But, if you give it time, they will feel the focused and absorbing nature of your aura. 

Generators are very stubborn and protective of their lifeforce (I’m speaking from experience). And Projectors often see issues before anyone else. One of the hardest things for Projectors is to be patient and wait until everyone’s ready to actually hear your guidance, especially in business if you’re on a team and there are deadlines. But, when you wait for that moment, it actually makes everything go more quickly. 

If you’re a business owner, waiting for the invitation to share doesn’t mean you don’t do anything until you’re explicitly invited. A market can implicitly invite you with a need they’re willing to pay you to solve. And you can share about what you’re creating in the world so the world knows what to invite you into. 

If you’re too busy trying to be a Generator, you won’t get the invitations that are correct for you because people won’t feel your Aura. It will be depleted from trying to do too much that you don’t have the consistent energy for. And it’s easy for a Projector to feel the pressure to “be like a Generator” because 70% of the population are Generators and much of the world rewards how “hard” someone works and for how many hours. So, notice if you’re comparing yourself to the Generators around you and see how you can follow your Energy more often. 

So in teams, again, it is really good for you to be kind of a guide or a mentor or a manager, but you don’t have to explicitly have that role. If you’re in a role that requires you to use your energy, make sure you’re not overusing it to try to be a generator. And if you’re in a team that demands that, see if there’s an opportunity to switch your role, or switch the team, or switch company.

For you, it’s just about trusting that if you stop using your energy when it isn’t there, when you really let yourself just rest when you need to rest, that it’s all going to work better than you could ever think up – for you and for the entire team and company. That’s going to take a little bit for the mind to get behind. But over time, if you really dive in and practice this, you’ll gain your own evidence for your mind. 

Manifestor

Manifestors make up 8% of the population and also do not have the Sacral center defined. Yet, they do have at least one motor center connected to the Throat. So while they don’t have the consistent sacral energy of the generator, they do have a form of motor energy connected to the expression and manifestation center that they can count on to show up in a consistent and specific way. This could either be the emotional energy of the Solar Plexus, it could be the willpower energy of the Ego center, or it could be the driving motivation of the Root center, going through the spleen all the way to the throat. 

As a Manifestor, if you are one, you’re here to bring forth bigger projects and bigger ideas. When you think of projects and ideas, they are likely large in scale. And, you are the only one of the four types designed to initiate, not wait. You are here to follow a spark into action, inform people what action you’re going to take and why, and then take it. So, if you’re working for another company, the best place for you won’t be with daily tasks on the front lines. 

The best place for you is a role where you can be in your creative energy and be able to trust your inner Spark to guide you and the team in a way that can be received and respected by the team.

Remember that the Generators around you will almost always have a lot on their plate already as they will constantly be asked to utilize their energy for various projects. So, the big visions and ideas you have can be overwhelming for the Generators around you. That’s why informing is so important, informing each person that will be impacted by any new direction you start blazing. In this way, you remove resistance from your path by enrolling people in the direction first. 

This will allow you to be in your design as you initiate action. And, as you build the habit of informing each person that will be affected before acting, you’ll meet less and less resistance. And the rest of the team will trust in following your direction more and more. Projectors can be a great ally in breaking up the big visions and projects you have into manageable chunks for the Generators. This is because they really deeply understand how the Generators are using their energy, both properly and improperly.

The best role for you is a leadership role, whether that’s explicitly or implicitly where people look to you as a leader even without a formal title. You can live your design much more easily when you have a position in an organization where people respect your wisdom for guiding the ship. 

If you’re a business owner, informing people of what you’re up to will get the necessary team enrolled in your vision. And, this is important because once your spark dies out for the project, it’s time to step away and let it take on a life of its own, stewarded by all those you enrolled in it. You can stand back and watch it grow as you wait for your next spark for the next project. 

Reflectors 

Reflectors are about 2% of the population. And if you’re a reflector, you don’t have any of your centers defined in your chart, which means you are reflecting the world. You are open to many different ways of being. There’s not one particular way that is consistent within you on a day to day basis that you can count on. And this isn’t a bad thing. 

The world convinces us that we need to have our unique way, which makes open centers sometimes challenging. But the benefit of being a reflector is that you get to sample and play with lots of different ways of being, expressing, thinking, following your direction, making money,  trusting your energy, trusting your instincts, listening to your emotions, and following your drive and motivation. As you move through the world and through others’ auras, you get to try on different experiences.

Also, as the planets move through the sky, you also get to sample different ways of experiencing life. This gives you a very broad perspective. So the most important thing for you is to not compare yourself to anyone. And to not think you need to have one way of doing things. In fact, your decision making process actually happens over a span of 28 days, which is the amount of time it takes for the moon to get back to that same position it started in. As the moon is traveling through the sky, it’s consistently activating different parts of your chart in the same pattern every 28 days. This is what gives you that broader perspective. You’re seeing things and experiencing things on a broader scale than most. 

You’re really here to be standing back and observing how everything is going and being built. You’re here to see the patterns that are happening at a larger scale and reflect that within your business or company. Strategy and visioning are really good roles for reflectors. While you can play various roles in a company, having the freedom and recognition of your longer term vision is important.
