In this post, we’re going to explore how your actions impact the reality around you. To do this, we’re going to look at the precursors to actions: thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. It’s those precursors that actually have the greatest impact on reality. It’s your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that are actually creating the challenges and the celebrations in your life. As tempting as it is to believe you’re reacting and responding to your reality, you are actually creating it. You create the way people act and behave around you. And they even create global events.
While you look very separate from those around you at the visual level, you are inseparable from them at the quantum level. If you were able to look at reality through a quantum microscope, you would see a sea of energy. And you would see how each thought and emotion you have creates ripples into this sea, moving in concert with the thoughts and emotions of everyone else.
And, during this time period of human history, we’re all born into a very particular “conditioning field”, meaning that we’re influenced by the collective societal belief systems that have been developed over the last several thousand years. The primary shift that has happened in the last 10,000 years is a focus on logic over intuition, patriarchy over equality, hierarchy, conquering and war, and results over wellness. We’re taught early on to give our power away to society in exchange for promised safety in the form of acceptance and retirement plans.
Then, on top of that, you have your specific ancestral conditioning. Your family lineage carries it’s own belief systems based on the challenges, traumas, and wounding patterns of your ancestors. These can be cultural, mental, emotional, etc.
Literally, we’re all in this together, all navigating our own slice of this “conditioning pie” where we’re taught who we should be and what we should think about the world and others. And those very thoughts continue to perpetuate the reality we don’t want. And they lead to actions that continue to create the reality you don’t want.
Many unhealthy patterns have been perpetuated down the centuries that you are then born into. And you’re swimming in the sea of this conditioning field, just like everyone else is. And, this collective consciousness field is what makes you inseparable from those around you.
The good news is that you affect this conditioning field. This means that you get to condition it in any way you wish. You get to shape how others think, believe, and act around you. Your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions do impact those around you directly.
The most potent way they affect others is at the energetic level. At the quantum sub-atomic level, your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions directed at others actually create how they treat you and act around you.
And a great example of this is the bully and the bullied. Growing up, I was the bullied and I often felt like a victim. But, what made me the bullied?
Yes, I was a huge geek, loved to study, always carried a huge stack of books, and had enormous glasses. But, that’s at the surface level. What was happening at the energetic level? There were thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that were making me the bullied.
It was my lack of self-worth. I walked through the world meekly and did not think highly of myself. I tried to hide and find refuge in my studies. I was socially awkward and lacked confidence. I picked this up from my ancestral lineage and from my parents. It was my slice of the conditioning pie. And, while I felt like a victim, I was actually taking part in creating the bullying that was happening to me. I was getting bullied for the very things I didn’t love about myself. For the very things that society taught me weren’t cool or acceptable. The very belief systems I bought into.
Now, if I had had a better sense of self confidence and self worth, the way those people would have treated me would have been a lot different. Being a very different child in the way I expressed and felt, I bought into the story of that making me a “geek”. And I helped co-create the reality of getting bullied. I obviously couldn’t see this at the time but, looking back, it’s so clear. I created the bullies around me. If I had more self worth, more self confidence in my differences, and didn’t really care that other what other people thought about them, those bullies wouldn’t have targeted me.
How do individuals in your life mirror you? How are they reflecting back to you your own thoughts, beliefs, and emotions? How do your judgements affect others? Later in life, as I figured out how to start loving myself, the bullying stopped and the friendships grew. And the opposite happened. I would come across people that are very cruel to those around me. But they weren’t cruel to me. And this is because I didn’t buy into the story they were telling. I didn’t buy into the beliefs they had about themselves and the world. I saw through it to their core, to who they were underneath all of that inherited and learned stuff. And I loved them in a way they couldn’t resist. I created them differently.
And this is the crux of it all. Often, it’s easy to walk through the world as a victim, judging and blaming others. But, all that does is perpetuate the same cycles that we were all born into.
You have a choice in every moment to decide how you will create the world and those around you. You have a powerful voice. You have powerful thoughts. You have powerful emotions. You can either create the status quo like most do. You can create people in the way they’re conditioned to believe they should be created. Or you can create them based on the truth of who they are.
This is not about taking full responsibility for the actions of others. But it is about realizing the part you play in creating the reality around you. This is about taking ownership for the life that you are creating. This is about you taking ownership for the life that you are creating around you through the collective quantum energetic field that you create ripples through with every thought, belief, and emotion.
What kind of ripples are you creating? What kind of ripples do you want to create? And can you be patient enough and trust deeply enough to let those ripples create their impact.
This isn’t the path of logic, willpower, and instant gratification. This is the path of power. Of standing in Truth long enough for reality to form around you. This is about you choosing to be the center point that Life orients around. This is about no longer forcing life but creating it.
And, if you want to get a clear look at your internal world, all you need do is look around you. Each person in your reality is a mirror for something within you. The behaviors you judge in them, perhaps their more lower frequency behaviors that they learned over the years as protection patterns to get through a world that doesn’t accept them for who they are, are often pointing out a part of you that you don’t love.
And so when you can pause blaming the people around you, and you can see how the very thing you’re judging in others is something you’re judging in yourself. Or the very thing that frustrates you about someone is showing a part of you that you don’t love. Or the way that someone treats you poorly is because, deep down, you treat yourself poorly in that way too.
When you really take this on as an experiment for yourself, not taking my word for it, you will begin to see that you truly are creating everything around you. As you shift your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions… as you begin to love yourself more… the people around you will shift. People will either leave your life. Or people will stay and shift their behaviors. This has to happen because, in the quantum sea of consciousness, your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions are now sending out new ripples. They are vibrating at a new frequency and the reality around you has to be in resonance with that frequency. What is not in resonance will fall away.
You can use each and every moment as an opportunity to shift from blame, shame, projections, and judgements to curiosity, acceptance, and love. You can ask:
How can I receive this information that these challenges and circumstances are showing me? How can I find the parts of me that I can love more? And how can I love them in a way where I shift how I feel about myself with which then shifts how I think, how I believe how I emote, how I act, which is then going to shift everyone around me?
And you can ask, “How do my actions, thoughts, beliefs, and emotions affect others?” There are studies to show that the way you perceive someone does have an impact on how they perceive themselves when you’re in their vicinity. So you can actually create someone feeling insecure through just by judging them. Now imagine a whole room of people directing judgement at one person. This is felt. This is why it can be so hard for someone who is bullied to break the cycle. Because, once they’re believed to be a geek worthy of being bullied and more and more students believe this, more and more students begin to judge this person silently. This is a heavy weight of being created by those around them.
When is a time in your life you’ve been created by those around you? Think about an environment that you’d walk into and just feel like you couldn’t be yourself.
In this way, if we extrapolate this out to a larger scale, you also create global events. When awful things happen in the world, it’s easy to separate ourselves from it. As I write this, Putin started an attack in Ukraine. It is awful and horrible. And it’s easy for me to say, “Look there at that awful Putin, at that awful violence, why can’t everyone get along?”
Well… and the mind often will struggle to accept this… you, I, and everybody have a part in creating that violence. Each time we have a thought of self-judgement or judgement of another… each time we project anger, blame, or shame at others or ourselves… we are sending ripples of violence into the sea of consciousness. And when enough of us are doing this, this is reflected back to us on a global scale. Putin is just acting out this energetic collective reality.
So, while shifting your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions won’t stop the violence now and it needs to be dealt with at the surface level, shifting your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions can prevent future violence.
The invitation is, when you see global events happening that are challenging to watch, to not separate yourself from them. To use them as an invitation to look within for the challenging beliefs, thoughts, and emotions that are hard to watch. To get curious about them. And to gently begin a shift to more self-love and self-compassion. To more love and compassion for those around you.
Because we are all swimming in the same sea of conditioned pain, wounding, and trauma. And blaming others for it doesn’t do anything.
You are so important, that we are also important – your voice your beliefs, your thoughts, your emotions matter more than you can even imagine.
Your love, your smiles, your pain, your challenge – all of it creates your reality.
